Just wondered if anyone knows the track listing for the promo/bootleg CD Follow Your Dreams Volume 3: The Hans Zimmer Crew. I suppose it features material from the Media Ventures gang. Does anyone have copies for sale? And is this CD readily available now?

um,

several thousand people have Regarding Henry when they bought it when it was still in print.

New Music In Films has recently gone OOP again...luckily I picked up a reprint. Certainly regretted not buying it back in 92, got it in 96.

A clip of TRKillers by HGW is on Zinfo - geez, look it up gman!

Alex - go to the Zimmer Discography on Zinfo for brief descriptions.

Hello.
I'm not a regular poster on this page. The only Zimmer work I have is The Rock and Crimson Tide, and I LOVE both of them. I would appreciate if someone could email me and let me know which
of his other works are similar to these, and which you think I would really like, given the two soundtracks mentioned above.
Thank you,
Alex

IT IS DISTRIBUTED BY THE MILAN LABEL BUT WHO KNOWS IF IT'S AVAILIBLE. THIS IS VERY DIFFERENT FROM HIS OTHER WORKS. IT IS ALMOST OPRARETIC IN FORM.

Well I can't wait for the movie. I expect it to be one of my favorites, but maybe my expectations are too high.

Anyways, I bought the score yesterday and it is very nice. The first and last tracks is a tribute hymn to the veterans of WWII. It is incredible!! Full chorus and orchestra grows into a classic, something that will be around forever. It brings out the tears. Sounds a little like a more mature theme that Williams would write for the Olympics.

The rest of the score is very refined. It sounds alot like William's Amistad score when John Q. Adams is talking. Very Coplandesqe with trumpet and french horn solos. It is not near as powerful as the first and last track but it is soothing. Sadly it is a bit redundant. I recommend it though.

Thats my review, anymore questions....go ahead and email.

Doug

Yes, Julius has the correct answer - no difference in music between the 2 pressings. I feel the European version (used in movie) has the better cover.

Hi,
Just saw in the stores the cd 'Music from the Films from Sean Connery'. It had also a track from the Rock (Hummel Gets The Rockets) on it, but it was a different version than the original. It sounded pretty good, not as good as the real one, though, but it was fun to hear. It had a little louder and more percussion on it, what sounded alright. Track was a little over 5 minutes.

Julius

PS. I think that the both K2's are the same, because they both contain two tracks called the Ascent and the Descent, and are both about 40 minutes. But I only own the American (inspired by)

hi ho,

well...I've advised against this elsewhere before, and I will again. The commercial version is available for $14:

Click

The oscar promo has NOTHING different in terms of music, and anything at all really. You have been advised. So, be content with a bid of $14 (inc. postage), unless the words 'oscar' on the cover gives you joy. Maybe a different case if it was autographed.

PONReturn:

Lawrence, why bother with a fake email address? just leave it blank.

it's on the CD titled HATE, but is a different recording than that used in movie.

you can buy it from here:

still a 'bitching' track.

Hey,

Both albums are great. The broadway one has hardly any Zimmer music but it has Mark Mancina.
The Rythm one has both Mancina and Zimmer tracks with Lebo M singing most of them.
Both are very good. Wait a little while for my review coming soon.

Hi Zimmerites.

Want to read something funny about Hans Zimmer? Check out http://us.imdb.com/Name?Zimmer,+Hans. Guarenteed laughter.

On the side note, the same page has Lebo M down as recieveing the Razzie award for worst song. I'm so pissed off I could just find out who wrote that and send them a note from one of my computer hacking pals.

Also, I will be sending BT and Yumbo a htmlized review of Power of One, and other Lion King stuff about the music.
I hope you all will like it.

HGWinfo? plus...need feedback please.
Yumbo
E-mail: IMC@top.net

yo!

been a while.
ok, reflection in life time...anyway...Yumbiosis' RA sound library has been cooking for the last month with over 14 titles and 30 full length clips...and there's another 6 titles and 10 clips lined up.

The most recent 10 titles are indexed here with the 21 latest entertainment and Macintosh stories:
http://www.ifiji.com/yumbo/index.html#zimmer

Q:
I'll be adding 3 album reviews on Harry Gregson-Williams; would you prefer to see a whole 'page' for the reviews, ie. HGWinfo/etc. or just a review summary page?

He recently co-scored Armageddon (no album apart from theme), and is currently (co-)scoring Antz - Dreamworks NOW first (digital) animation.

After adding more RAs, and the new HGW reviews/page, along with Chicago Hope (and hopefully High Incident, by then)/Jeff Rona page (please choose), I'll TRY to add one article a week (I have about 8 of them), and then finish my MV visits page.

Note also that I can provide CDR services, with proceeds going toward the upkeep of Zinfo etc, currently $100 monthly.

I'll probably add one RA clip/montage for each Zimmer title as well, as a slow ongoing thing.

zoodles,
Chrisz

Well Doug, this is really great news. I have hoped that Zimmer would score Enemy Of The State ever since I heard about this film, but until today I have not seen any facts that he would score it. Even on th IMDB there is no composer listed. Let's just hope he delivers a dynamite score like he has done for the 4 other Tony Scott films he's been scoring.

E-mail: rothstein@earthlink.net

I'm not happy I have to do this, but I feel forced that I
have to blacklist a MR. DOUG FRIEND of OKLAHOMA.

I have done probably fifty trades over the past year, all
over the world, and have never had a single trade go bad or
get lost -- except for my trade with Mr. Friend.

I should've known better. The first trade I did with him six
months ago was a disaster -- paid him for a compilation, took
a month to get (though he was sure quick to cash it), then it
took several more months for the artwork.

The current trade he says he never received (possible, but
unlikley), then he takes weeks to return emails, then when
he does return them, he doesn't even know/or remember what
the original email was for.

I've had enough dealing with him. Anyone else choose to
trade with him, you do so at your own risk. AND IF HE EVEN
THINKS OF ATTACKING ME, I HOPE THAT PEOPLE ON THIS BOARD WHO
HAVE HAD SUCCESSFUL TRADES WITH ME AGAIN AND AGAIN WILL RALLY
TO MY SUPPORT.

All the best,

Richie

Can someone tell something about the other scores of the Lion King
I have the original score with the Elton John songs
And like the songs of Zimmer/Mancina both instrumental and the vocal tracks

There also are albums called ³rhythm of the pride lands² and ³Lion King on Broadway²
Can someone tell me something about this CDs?
Is it worth to buy some of this albums, maybe both?

Just thought I would let you know that it is a terrific soundtrack by James Horner. It was just released today and I have been listening to it over and over. Mixes in some of his best. A little Rocketeer, a little Braveheart, a little Krull....and also adds some Spanish flavor (i.e. trumpet quartet and Flamenco Dancers) About 75 minutes long with a pop song at the end which will surely hit the radios soon. Go get it....so far I think it is one of his bests. Nothing beats "Field of Dreams" for me though.

Just a side note, I was watching Armegeddon last Wednesday and I noticed the Enemy of the State preview had Zimmer on its credits. Was this the first concrete release of this info b/c before I only heard speculation? Will he have time to do it what with Prince of Egypt and A Thin Red Line coming out too? I love that he is doing alot now because it seems like he really hasn't done anything big since The Peacemaker. (AGAIG was ok)

Bad news. Yumbo says that Trevor Rabin has said "no score release." Too bad a news for me, partially because Harry Gregson-William co-composed half of the score and I like his action-scoring style, ever so present in the movie. And because I like the score itself and Rabin's work on the movie, especially his patriotic theme.
If anybody here like to be able to do something about having a voice on the score release to this good score, there is a petition going on at Movietunes.com for you all to check out and sign up.

saw it yestersday and it is simply amazing. Trever Rabin's score is also good, very themetic , very emotional, especially in the last half an hour. strongly suggest seeing it, both for the music as well as the movie itself.
