Filmmusicreporter.com posted that the soundtrack album will be released for download as of now in the US prior to the first screening in the UK on the 13th, and on September 24th on CD prior to the US general opening on the 27th.

The rest of the world this time will have to wait after the US, with the album available on Friday, September 20th.

The album features 24 tracks including 5 songs, notably Gimme Some Lovin’ by Steve Winwood, which was featured in Days of Thunder but covered by Terry Reid.

Hans chimed in to say that he would be attending the movie premiere on Monday September 2nd, which was the day after his attendance at the premiere for Twelve Years a Slave on the 1st at the Toronto Film Festival.
The Rush premiere was streamed live on Yahoo UK.

Variety’s review is generally positive and had this to say about the score:

“Additionally, the film’s aural elements are outstanding. Nominations for sound editing and sound mixing are definitely on the table, while Hans Zimmer’s score — quite different from what he offers on “12 Years a Slave” this year — is a gripping pulse-pounder.”
