Comments: Nice page! I've had the opportunity (I'm a very busy composer/arranger) to arrange several of his films for band (Waterworld, Dave)and I beleive he is one of the most UNDERRATED composers today. I find his work to be fresh, innovative, and FULL of variety - rare with a lot of film composers nowadays. One final note - check out his work in the HBO miniseries "From the Earth to the Moon" - he scored episode 6 (the first moon landing), and it's just BEAUTIFUL. Keep up the GREAT work on this page!

I have to thank you on behalf of all Zimmer fanatics for your effort. May be you should start having some Zimmer trailers in MP3 format. ^-^

Comments: I wish Hans Zimmer would reconsider his releasing his unreleased material. Especially Days of Thunder. Days of Thunder was the score that started my liking of instrumental music from films. There are many compositions out there that I enjoy greatly, but Days of Thunder is the best of them. In order to get the music in some form, is there any way they may release the movie on DVD with an all music track. I have been waiting for either a widescreen version to the film or a DVD version. Neither are available. DVD I think would be the best of course, and if they did make that version available, it would be in widescreen and I thought it would be nice to listen to the all music track. Maybe you can suggest that to them. It is beter than nothing. I myself am going to write to them about that. Mabey if they hear it from enough people, they will reconsider.

Comments: Alan Williams really is a gifted composer, and I think in a short amount of time he's going to be at the true top of the Hollywood composing game...however, I'm disappointed there are no plans for a release of his score to "Mark Twain's America", an IMAX film narrated by Anne Bancroft. It was really just an amazing piece of work, that you can feel touching your heart again and again while listening...if there's going to be no score release, does anyone know if there will at least be a track or two on a new Alan Williams demo cd? Any info is greatly appreciated...I emailed Alan with this question, and he generously offered to help find a theme or two for me, but I do not wish to make myself a pest and keep bugging him about it...so anyone who responds, thanks!! ---Mike

I was wondering if I was one of the few who loves the music if these guys, but ,gladly, there are more people.
When I visited the states recently I found a new score of Zimmer and Harry-Gregson Williams called "Antz".
Keep on going this way, I will visit it more often.

I cant help getting that mighty feeling in my stomach everytime i listen to Zimmer work!!! I guess you all know that feeling!!! But now i was kind of wondering if anybody heard if there is going to be a REAL soundtrack from Armageddon! Not the boring songs! It sounds real good even though it is Trevor Rabin behind it, and not Hans. Please give me information!

Thanks in advance! Hawk!

Comments: I'm a great Zimmer and friends fan. One can't just release enough of their music. I expect a lot from those guys in the near future. The good thing about them is that they are starting to cover all genres of filmmusic. E.g. Man In The Iron Mask, The Rock, Antz, Prince Of Egypt, As Good As It Gets, Armageddon,... Is there a category where they haven't been? I don't think so. Yumbiosis is the best possible site for fans like me. I hope I'm far from the only guy that thinks this.

They put so much emotion into their scores and Trevor Rabin created a perfect score for ARMAGEDDON. I was hoping that the scores for SPEED 2 and BAD BOYS would be released someday. But now I highly dought it. I'd love to hear the BAD BOYS score by itself.

I have a friend who orchestrates for him, his name is Erik Lundborg. when I visited him last february Hans was just off to london to record the music for "prince of egypt", he said it's by far his most epic work yet. There is already rumors brewing that it will be a 2 cd release. Anyway keep your eyes open for my friends name, who knows he may be the next big thing to evolve from the zimmer factory.

Comments: This is an extremely great page! I like it! Got a lot of information, thanks. I have become a Zimmer after watching the movie - The Rock several times and before that I don't know there is a kind of CD in the world called soundtracks. There aren't any Hans Zimmer's new release soundtrack for almost a year since As Good As It Gets. It's so great that 3 Hans Zimmer's new movie score will be releasing in Nov and Dec. I can't wait to hear them!! One more thing I would like to say is that the two major TV channels in Hong Kong "always" uses Mr Zimmer's score like The Rock, Backdraft, Face/Off(although he is the producer), also I can hear the Armageddon theme(Zimmer style). They use them all the time. Isn't that great?

Comments: I myself am a musicologist and a composer of contemporary classical music (beyond Planet of the Apes or Altered States). I nevertheless crave JNH music, simply because it's always interesting, well crafted and beautiful to listen to - which is, let's face it, the most important of all music. The Devil's Advocate is one of the best scores I've heard in a long time, and continues to be an important asset in the debate I have with my peers to prove them that soundtracks are more than just copies of bad late-romantic music. But I will not bore you with my opinions of music... for now. Mr Howard, keep up the good work! Kris.

Comments: Well, I am a BIG Mark Mancina fan. There are a few things i'm dissapointed with. The lack of album releases he has gotten. Even though I don't like all the films he's scored, I do like the music. Another thing does get to me, and that's the repetion his music has. I know that action films, and other films get edited differently from day to day during post-produstion. But Mark, and other composers are talented enough to think up several cues for a film. Take CON AIR, great score, but the themes for different elements keep coming up again and again. I understand that the characters in a movie don't change how the act sceen to sceen, but in the case of action movies, there surroundings do, so why not the cues? There are about four main themes in CON AIR that get used again and again. I think the repetion needs to be less.

Comments: What a great site! I am a fan of Zimmer, Mancina, Rabin, and all the other composers you highlight here. It's good to know I'm not alone! Being an avid collector of film music, it's great to see you have downloads of unreleased material for easy access. Please keep this site going and keep me up to date on the best music out there!

Comments: Hi, I was just wondering if you knew who did the trailer to Seven Years in Tibet. I was told that it was James Newton Howard but i didn't see anything about it here. It is also used again in the new Disney movie/cartoon that is coming out about the warrior girl but I can't remember that name. I have been looking for this for a really long time so if you know anything I would really apprecitate it. Thanks

Zimply zuperb... Ah, you knew you had another Zympho-maniac on your hans,
didn't you? Thank you for reacquainting me with my favourite genre...
SCORES! Now if only I could get my hans on "The Peacemaker". I've heard
it has good horns. Hmmm, horns... smiles.

Keep up the good work, but allow time for a few distractions. You never
know what they might bring you...

well, one can always score with scores, esp. horny ones...er, I mean ones with horns.

Comments: WOW! YOUR SITE KICKS ASS!!! I'M SICK OF PEOPLE SAYING "HANS WHO?" and for a while I thought I was the only person in the world who knew his music. Anyway, excellent reviews. One question : Do u know the title of music in the FACE/OFF trailer? (Copy availible at face-off.com) Thanks.

Smiles. Thank you, and you're welcome.
The Face/Off trailers use 2 cues. The first is a transposed Broken Arrow, and the second is an original trailer commission - unavailable.

Comments: I am a huge fan of Sam Cardon. Sam, where are you these days? I think that your "Impulse" CD was magnificent. Do you plan to record similar projects in the future? How can I obtain a copy of the "Whales" soundtrack CD? I also have "Innovators" (Great). Where can I get more of Sam? (Recording Info, Soundtracks, etc.)

Keep up the great work.

A fan of yours in San Diego.

Comments: The motion picture "Bad Boys" was the first film that I had ever
spliced together ("built") while working as a film projectionist
in college. I got to watch the opening credits to that film a few
times each shift and never tired of Mr. Mancina's score. Here's
hoping that a "Bad Boys" score CD is released soon!

P.S. Great webpage! Thanks!

Comments: WOW!!!!!! I found your site 2 days ago and have been listening to the sound clips over and over again. I would like to thank you. It's a great site!! It's good to see other film score fans out there. I now definitely want the Hoffa, Peacemaker and many other of the soundtracks you have presented. I hope you will be updating this site every now and then with new soundtracks. I'm also impressed on how you present unreleased bits from scores. Nice touch!!!!!!!

Comments: I wanted to let you know how much I enjoy your music. It is always inspiring. I just brought the Postman soundtrack today 1/1/98 and really enjoy it, just as I have with Waterworld! I only have one request. I need information for the Sentinel tv series. Myself and many other fans out here are interested in the score and are in hopes of seeing the CD made based on it. With a tv series that may soon be ending after three seasons, it will be hard to let it fade away, but the score will always ground us. It is the music that keeps the spirit alive and believe it should be done!! Your music has always been at the top of my list and the unmistakable sound that comes out of the Sentinel is one surely not to be missed. Please forward any info that may come out of this! Thank you and keep up the fabulous work! 8)
